Two-phase orthodontic treatment combines teeth straightening and facial changes to achieve your child's lasting, healthy, functional, and aesthetically pleasing smile.

Delaying treatment can lead to more invasive procedures in the future, potentially failing to address your child's smile concerns fully. Early intervention is key for lasting results.

PHASE ONE

Phase One aims to guide jaw development to accommodate permanent teeth and improve jaw alignment. Early signs of jaw issues often surface during childhood. Early orthodontic treatment can prevent future complications if children over age six exhibit jaw discrepancies or if eight-year-olds have crowded front teeth.

Early treatment can eliminate the need for permanent tooth removal or surgical jaw realignment, benefiting children significantly. Orthodontic records, including models, X-rays, and photos, help determine the treatment plan.

RESTING PERIOD

During this phase, remaining permanent teeth erupt naturally without interference. Retaining devices may be unnecessary to allow freedom of movement. A successful Phase One creates space for permanent teeth to align correctly. Periodic recall appointments, typically every six months, monitor progress during this resting phase.

PHASE TWO

Phase Two ensures that each tooth is in harmony with the lips, cheeks, tongue, and adjacent teeth, enabling proper function. It usually involves comprehensive upper and lower braces.

This phase begins once all permanent teeth have erupted, with braces worn on all teeth for approximately 24 months. Retainers follow to maintain your child's beautiful smile.
